ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- CBN (cubic boron nitrate) plated wheel grinding radial.
- Follow all policies and procedures, including the use of proper PPE.
- Analyze and interpret Op sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specifications.
- Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary.
- Maintain working knowledge of CNC principles, including G and M codes.
- Maintain working knowledge of rotary/linear axes.
- Selects, aligns, and secures fixtures, grinding wheels, and workpieces on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
- Trues and dresses grinding wheel to specified angles, curves, shapes, radii.
- Analyze, interpret CMM reports, and properly offset machine dimensions to meet customer specifications.
- Perform Deburr operations to within specified tolerances.
- Make continuous machine adjustments and redresses wheels to produce and maintain designated form and to sharpen such tools with proper rake angles, primary and secondary relief angles, cutting lands, dish-out, radii, and diameters.
- Report proper labor hours in the ERP system.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties.
- Capable of running multiple machines when assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 of milling or lathe experience required.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Must be able to solve complex problems using math, fractions, percentages, ratios, geometry, calculus, etc.
- Troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand at least 95% of your scheduled shift.
- Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping in order to move and set tools, equipment and material.
- Perform under AS9100, ITAR/EAR standards.
